Progressing a work order in the field: Step 5

Go to work order location

The Work Order Details screen appears. This screen shows you all the detailed information about the work order. For more information, see Work Order Details screen.

When you arrive at the location, change the work order status to “On Site” by tapping on On Site. This signifies that you are working on the work order and triggers forms for data collection.

Note  ̶   This depends on the workflow configured for the work order type. “Out-of-the-box” apps in Trimble Unity will have the status On Site. The field crew can progress the work order to the statuses available based on the workflow configuration.

Use the map and turn-by-turn navigation steps to get to the work order location. Tap to open the Map menu. Do one of the following:

  • Tap to show your GPS location on the map.
  • Tap to trigger Map Navigation to find a route between your current location (as determined by GPS) and the location of the work order or asset.
  • Tap to turn on the compass, which appears on the bottom left corner of the map. This tool helps guide you to the precise location of the asset you are trying to find. It’s useful for locating assets that have been hidden from immediate view, for example, a valve cover that has been asphalted over.

For more information, see The Map menu options.
