Create the Application in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS

You will need to create an application in your ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS account in order to complete the configuration of Single Sign-on.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Before completing these steps, you need to know the URL of your server hosting site. The URL is different for each geographical region and customers that have dedicated Trimble Unity hosting may have a different URL. For most customers, the region will determine the URL as follows:
  • United States: https://us.trimbleunity.com/
  • Australia: https://au.trimbleunity.com/
  • Europe: https://euw.trimbleunity.com/
  1. Log in to your ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS account.
  2. Under My Content, click New Item.

  1. Select Application.

  1. Select Other Application for the Type and enter a Title for the application. Enter Tags to make it easier to search for this application.
  2. Click Save.

  1. Share this application with your entire organization, or the groups in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS that contain the users that will need access to Trimble Unity through Single Sign-on.
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab for the application.
  3. In the Application Settings section, click Registered Info.
  4. The App ID is shown, and you can click Show Secret to view the App Secret. You will need these values for the Single Sign-on Settings page in Trimble Unity, so leave this window open.
  5. Return to your ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS account and click Update next to the application.

  1. Click Update to add a new Redirect URI.

Note that there is already a Redirect URI value for urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob. Leave this value.

  1. In the Redirect URI field, enter the following values:

Used by Trimble Unity Web. This value is used for USA cloud hosted customers. For Europe, use https://euw.trimbleunity.com/unity/login/oauth-callback.

Dedicated hosted customers should contact their technical account manager to confirm the URI to use at vp_customers@trimble.com.

trimbleunity-app://auth

Used by Trimble Unity Mobile.

  1. Click Update to save the configuration.

The next step is to configure the Single Sign-on Settings in the Trimble Unity app.
